From the Cato blog, if elected, Barack Obama would like to create a national technology czar. "with broad authority to develop policy, elevating high-tech issues to the cabinet level in a major recalibration of the government’s approach to regulating the communications sector."

Further consolidation of power into the hands over whoever may be president...in a field where no president could ever have the technological knowhow to make informed technological decisions...but rather will make poltically motivated decisions.
My dad is an electrical engineering consultant and works on many standards commitees that work with the FCC on spectrum etc. I'll show him this piece. He might shoot himself. Or Obama.
